#_7 Días de Arte Vida

Let it live ¡7 days of Art!

Taking advantage of the connectivity of an island with technological backwardness, but with a proliferation of images that short-circuits social deterioration, 7 días de Arte-Vida —a project conceived by Carlos González Acosta and Elizabeth Pozo Rubio-, breathes through the oxygen of Instagram and the oxygen that the artists donate to a creature still in gestation process.

For a week the social networks disseminated works that could be scattered across profiles, personal accounts and unseen exhibitions. In an attempt to disrupt the geographical fatalism of the island with its tropical dislocations and turn it into visual displays.

The creators have been very different. Their subjectivities are placed like a membrane in front of the context, transgressing constrictions and providing space for their own projects and visions.

The frustrations, disappointments and stories palpable in the social sensibility are those that Celia Mariana touches from the skin of the circumstantial subjects of her environment. Lisandra Isabel García tears her own self from the socially and culturally fabricated identity. Miriannys Montes de Oca, goes through herself, to delve into dramas that often come from the friction of the personal world with the outside world. Los soportables pesos del ser (2016), one of her works, reminds me of how we try to intervene in this destiny.

7 días has had a short existence, but we hope it will be long, the artists are diverse, just as free is the place we are trying to manage in the networks, a graft of otherness in a precarious space.
